Content coverage: What information does the website provide?
When you find information relating to the law online, you should consider how reliable the information is, how current the information is, and what type of information the website provides.
You could be looking at a reliable website with current information, but it still might not be what you need! That is because you need to consider what information the website includes. For example, if you need to look at laws in the United States Code, the Iowa Legislature website does not have the content you need, because its focus is on Iowa state law, not federal law like the United States Code.
If you are not sure what website might have the type of content you need, check out our legal research pages, our research topics, or consider asking a librarian for help.
