Overview of Veterans Benefits

What kinds of benefits are available?

Iowa Veterans may be eligible for many types of veterans benefits from federal, state, county, and local sources. A veteran may be eligible for one or more benefits depending on their service and personal situation. The first stop for information about benefits and assistance in applying for benefits should be the county veterans service office (VSO). There is never a charge for information or assistance applying for benefits.

There are many benefits available to veterans and their families at the federal, state, county, and local level. For information about county and local benefits, talk with your local VSO.
