Who qualifies as an "older individual"?

The victim must be 60 years old or older and unable to protect him or herself because of a mental or physical condition or a personal circumstance which results in an increased risk of harm to the victim.

What type of abuse is covered?

The abuse must cause harm to the victim that is physical, psychological, emotional, or sexual, or there must be neglect or isolation of the victim as defined by the law.

Does there have to be a relationship between the victim and the abuser?

No. The abuse may have been committed by any person. There is no requirement that there be a special relationship between the victim and the abuser.
