The Iowa Insurance Division regulates insurance providers in Iowa and provides helpful information on many types of insurance.

The Insurance Division has a team that answers questions and takes complaints from consumers called the Market Regulation Bureau. You can reach them by filling out their contact form or calling 1-877-955-1212 (toll free in Iowa). Their Contact page has more contact options.

Iowa Legal Aid Insurance Law Information

Iowa Legal Aid provides free legal help to Iowans who meet their income guidelines. They also provide information on a variety of topics, including on insurance.

HealthCare.gov provides resources and information on obtaining health insurance through the health insurance Marketplace. 

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Website

The NFIP provides information on buying flood insurance and other issues relating to flooding. The NFIP is a federal program created by Congress.

National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Glossary of Insurance Terms

Sometimes the words used to describe insurance can be confusing. NAIC's Glossary provides definitions of insurance terms. Understanding these words can help you better address your insurance questions.
